Snowbasin Announces Two Week Season Extension

We are excited to announce a season extension, providing guests with two additional weeks of skiing and riding. Previously scheduled for April 14, Snowbasin is planning to operate through Sunday, April 28 pending conditions.

Lifts, restaurants and amenities available during the two-week extension will be announced soon as we gain more clarity on conditions and available staffing, as much of our workforce moves onto summer seasonal opportunities. We are committed to providing a world-class top-to-bottom skiing experience with exceptional dining that Snowbasin is known for.  Ticket prices during the extended period will be reduced to reflect the amount of terrain available once it is determined.

This announcement comes on the heels launching next winter’s season passes with the added incentive to ski free the rest of this season when you buy a 2024-25 pass. With the season extension, that is now six bonus weeks of skiing, plus summer fun at Snowbasin. The remainder of the season will be filled with spring events put on by the resort. Events include:

  • Tap Takeovers and Cinnabar Après Music – Weekends in March:  Enjoy après music in the Cinnabar every weekend from 3:30 - 6:00 p.m.  Plus, join us on the patio of Earl's Lodge from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with a rotating series of local breweries featured.
  • The Handle Tow Showdown – Saturday, March 23: An epic, high-stakes Spring Showdown rail jam hosted by X Games Gold Medalist, Tom Wallisch
  • Snowbasin Sunset Social – Friday, March 29: The ultimate mountain-top après-ski evening at Needles Lodge. Complete with live music, a full bar, delicious pub-fare food and sunset views from the top of Snowbasin.
  • The 10th Annual Pond Skim – Saturday, April 20: The iconic season cross-over event of the year will return to Snowbasin, bringing the 100-foot adrenalin rush back as guests attempt to cross it sporting their wildest costumes.
  • Closing Day Basin Bash – Sunday, April 28: This 80s themed affair will bring the season to a close with live music, costume contests and food and drinks on Earl’s Patio.

Snowbasin is known for its accessibility and we are proud to remain open to all with free parking and no reservations required. UTA Ski Bus service has also been extended to run until April 13. Along with season passes and lift tickets, Ikon, Ikon Base Plus and Mountain Collective passes are welcome to use their remaining days until we close.

"Once again, we are showing that if we have the conditions, we're committed to provide you with more skiing. Fortunately, we have a team that loves this mountain and skiing as much as our guests to keep this incredible season going. So, grab your pass and come enjoy a few extra weeks of winter with us."
