Spooky season is upon us! Here at Snowbasin, we’re bringing Halloween to the highlands at our first annual Haunted Basin event, starting on October 10^th. Join us for two thrilling weekends of wicked fun with no shortage of frights for the whole family, ranging from thrilling Halloween movies to a spooky stroll through our Haunted Forest. 

The Mountain Morgue:

Who said Halloween is just for kids? Although we believe there’s no age limit for trick-or-treating, the fun doesn’t end when you opt for something other than candy hunting. At The Mountain Morgue, you can enjoy our variety of delicious, handcrafted fall-themed food and drinks. Sample our spooky lineup, including cocktails such as “Betelgeuse”, complete with an edible beetle, and “Pet Cemetery” our house-made bloody mix with an edible chicken foot. Non-alcoholic options include “Blood Donor”, a juice mocktail served in a blood bag and our take on a classic beverage -“Reanimated Corpse of Shirley Temple”. Indulge in our Mountain Morgue bites, with a selection of items named after infamous serial killers. The menu covers a range of options from shareable plates to salads and entrees, catering to different preferences and dietary needs. Each dish was thoughtfully curated with the Halloween spirit in mind, from “Bundy Bruschetta” with chicken liver pate and fig jam to the “Son of Salmon”, a house ground salmon patty burger served on an activated charcoal bun with red beet cocktail sauce.

Spooky Movies:

Take a break from the crisp fall air to cozy up in the beautiful setting of Earl’s Lodge for a mountain movie night! Sit back and relax while immersing yourself in one of two back-to-back spooky season movies. The night will start with family friendly Hocus Pocus, followed by a scarier showing of Stephen King’s IT for big kids and adults.

Haunted Forest:

Twist and turn through the winding autumn trees if you dare… but beware of jump scares! Haunted Basin features a half mile haunt through the forest of Snowbasin Resort, complete with horrifying creatures jumping into your path at any given moment. Our haunt actors have been hand-selected to deliver the spookiest immersive experience imaginable, so terror is guaranteed! There is really no better way to dive into the Halloween spirit than braving the night where unseen terrors will stalk your every step. Will you make it out unscathed? *The Haunted Forest will be family friendly and appropriate for younger kids from 6-7pm. If you’re hoping for a truly terrifying experience, wait until after 7pm!*

Black Light Mini Golf:

Summer might be coming to a close, but our well-loved mini golf course is now multi-seasonal! We’re throwing a fun fall twist onto everyone’s favorite 18-hole alpine course by decking it out with black lights for golfers to putt into the depths of the darkness. Ready to prove your skills on this spooky course? We can’t wait to crown a Black Light Mini Golf champion!

Dates and Times:

While we invite you to ring in the new fall season at Snowbasin anytime, our Haunted Basin event will span two weekends: October 10^th-14^th and 17^th-21^st. Earl’s Lodge and Haunted Trail will open at 6pm and close at 11pm, with The Mountain Morgue and Black Light Mini Golf open from 6pm to 9pm. For those with kids on the younger side, please note that our family friendly hours are from 6pm to 7pm. See you soon!
