New lifts coming online in 3, 2, 1...

That's right, Snowbasin's highly awaited new lift, DeMoisy Express, is set to open for the first time on Tuesday, December 19. This new addition will follow in the footsteps of Becker, which will open on Wednesday, December 13th, and Porcupine and John Paul, set to open on Friday, December 15th for the season. But that's not all. DeMoisy will debut alongside a brand-new patio located at the base of Strawberry, offering guests an additional spot to rest and refuel before returning to the slopes.

As the resort’s third lift enhancement in four years, DeMoisy Express will double the uphill capacity for the resort’s popular Strawberry side of the mountain with the ability to transport 2,400 riders every hour with a ten-minute ride time. The new lift's top terminal was strategically placed beneath its namesake peak, offering more wind protection for operation, additional access into highly sought-after terrain and a more convenient route to the base area or Strawberry terrain. With its base terminal located near the new patio and by the base of Strawberry Gondola, this area is positioned to be a new communal hub on the mountain. 

Spanning from the northwest portion of Strawberry Lodge and encompassing over 5,000 sq. ft., the new cobblestone patio is home to three new dining outlets, more than 180 seats and multiple fire pits for guests to cozy up to in between runs. The new dining outlets will offer an array of cuisine options, including a southern-inspired Chicken Po’ Boy, various cheesesteaks and homestyle soups. 

The debut of DeMoisy Express and the Strawberry Patio follow the resort’s recent line of upgrades for the 2023-24 season, which include the addition of 124 parking spaces and new ground-level bathrooms in the base area. You can learn more about the 2023-24 season upgrades here.
