It’s time to swap your ski boots for hiking boots. Hike up from the base of the mountain, or take Needles Gondola for a head-start, and hit our wide array of trails. We have three hiking-only trails that lead to the crest of the ridge for breathtaking views of the valley far below. Along the way, discover all of our beautiful wildflowers by grabbing a copy of our Common Wildflower Sheet.
Snowbasin Resort has more than 26 miles of trails that connect to even more Forest Service trails for nearly 50 miles of two-wheel fun. All our single-track trails are well maintained and wind through scenic groves of aspen and glades of pines. Snowbasin also offers gondola bike access for challenging uphill climbs and extreme downhill switchbacks. All levels of riding are available from the base and gondola-accessed trails. Novice and moderate trails are the perfect choice for a scenic family ride or mountainside picnic.
The use of electric bikes is allowed only within the Snowbasin Resort boundary, labeled on the summer trail map. Due to the weight of these bikes, guests must be able to load them onto Needles Gondola themselves without Snowbasin staff assistance. The US Forest Service has designated e-bikes as motorized vehicles and does not permit them on their trails outside Snowbasin Resort. These trails include Sardine Peak, Wheeler Canyon, East Fork, and Middle Fork. Please use caution if transitioning from Snowbasin Resort trails to US Forest Service Trails to adhere to USFS policies.

At the top, dine at our grand buffet while enjoying a 360-degree view of the mountain and Pineview Reservoir in Ogden Valley below. And keep a lookout for moose and deer wandering around the resort enjoying a meal of their own.

Needles Gondola is dog friendly, but please do not bring your pets into the lodges or anywhere food is being served. Please make sure to pick up after your pet.
At the peak of Snowbasin, where Needles Lodge sits, there is a 6.6-mile top-to-bottom run with a good blend of shaded areas among pines, brush, and aspens. The uncovered sections of the trail reveals the mountainous views Snowbasin has to offer.
Right off Needles [#1] trail is a 0.7-mile stretch of flowy singletrack that moves through a wide variety of flowers, aspen trees, and other vegetation, providing enjoyment for all skill levels.
Located off the Summer Road [#21] and Needles [#1], this 4.2-mile downhill-only trail features a challenging mix of singletrack and switchbacks, with occasional loose, rocky, and rooted sections.
The Green Pond Trail is a 2.6-mile out-and-back route for hiking and biking, featuring scenic views of trees, flowers, and a pond. It has a 695-foot elevation gain, includes a picnic table, and is both kid and dog-friendly.
Nestled above Needles Lodge between Needles and Demoisy peaks, it features a 0.5-mile trail with epic valley views, perfect for you and your furry friends.
Located off Strawberry Trail [#16] and Needles Trail [#1], this amazing picnic and observation point overlooks the valley, offering a perfect spot for a picnic with scenic views.
