Snowbasin Resort Kicks Off Snowmaking for 2024-25 Season

Huntsville, UT – November 4, 2024 – Winter weather has arrived in Utah and Snowbasin Resort has officially kicked off its snowmaking process on the mountain. With opening day set for November 29, these efforts will act as the baseline for future snowfall to build on, preparing the resort for the start of the 2024-25 winter season.

"We've had an action-packed summer and fall here at the resort and we couldn't be more excited to welcome everyone back for the winter season," said Davy Ratchford, General Manager of Snowbasin Resort. "Creating a top-tier skiing and snowboarding experience for our guests is always our biggest priority. This year, Snowbasin recently ranked in the top 10 for grooming, best value, snow quality and more, as well as No. 1 resort in the West in SKI Magazine's Reader's Resort Guide. Following this amazing recognition, we can't wait to welcome new and returning guests to our resort for another incredible year."

In less than a month, Snowbasin will open for the 2024-25 winter season, where guests will have the opportunity to experience award-winning terrain, guest services and variety of dining options. Looking ahead, Snowbasin has announced multiple investments to amplify the overall guest experience in the upcoming 2024-25 and 2025-26 winter seasons, including refurbished gondola cabins and a brand new replacement for Becker Chairlift.

Many of these capital investments will improve traffic flow and parking, which is offered for free without reservations. The arrival experience will continue to improve, with the expansion of parking lots and increased bus and shuttle services. Snowbasin recently partnered with the UDOT to implement a new traffic pattern off Trapper’s Loop, allowing cars from south and northbound lanes to simultaneously turn onto Snowbasin Road and creating an estimated 25% increase in vehicle speed. Access for carpoolers will be prioritized, with Earl’s parking lots A-E reserved for vehicles with three or more people every weekend until 11 a.m.
